Wash, Dry, Shine! Official relaunch of our Community Launderette

In glorious sunshine, on 2 September, we celebrated an exciting milestone: the official relaunch of the Shine On Community Launderette in Shieldlfield, presided over by guest of honour, the Lord Mayor of Newcastle.

The refurbishment of the launderette marks the last stage of our name change from Caring Hands to Shine On. Shine On continues to offer affordable service washes, drying, and folding for all laundry needs, from small items to bulky duvets.

The official relaunch reflects the dedication of many people who poured their efforts into the refurbishment, including volunteer Project Manager Ken Brown and the staff and volunteers of the launderette who worked throughout to maintain our services.

A special thank you goes to Lord Mayor Henry Gallagher for attending the event. His presence highlighted the value of community projects like Shine On.
